I am not the type of person who
will be content with anything less than my very best. I strive for
excellence in all that I do, and here are a few instances where that
dedication has been recognized.
Freshman Year
- I was invited to participate in the Distinguished Albion
Scholars Program (DASP), where I presented a project as part of a
competition for a full scholarship. I didn't win, but the experience
was a great one!
- I was named to the Dean's List in my fall semester
Sophomore Year
- I was nominated by my peers for the Sophomore of the Year award.
- I was named to the Dean's List in my fall and spring semesters.
- I was presented with the Roxanna Sayre Endowed Scholarship in
Journalism, following a nomination from a member of the English
department and a departmental vote.
- I was initiated into Sigma Tau Delta, the national English
honorary.
Junior Year
- I received two Michigan Press Association awards for my work in
the 2006-2007 school year. 1st place for an investigative story at a
weekly college paper ("Albion registering for Frustration 101"), and
2nd place for a column at a weekly college paper ("Cheney vs. Smith:
What is news?")
