On May 1, 2007, I was inducted into Albion's Nu Pi chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. Members must carry at least a 3.5 GPA and be in the top 30 percent of their graduating class. While STD is a recognition of excellence and personal achievement, it is also an active organization on campus.

Throughout the year, we host spelling bees, help the local library run fun events to interest younger children in reading, and work to promote a love of all things English. I haven't had the opportunity to really be involved in these events yet, but I'm looking forward to participating in them this year!
