Cascarelli's Spaghetti Dinner

Date: September 26, 2007 (tentative)

4:30-7:30pm (tentative)

Cascarelli's on S. Superior St. in Albion

Cost: $6.00

Sponsored by Albion entrepreneur Jim Cascarelli, Cascarelli's restaurant in downtown Albion will host our second annual Spaghetti Dinner. This dinner will cost $6.00 a plate for spaghetti, dinner roll, salad and a brownie. Last year this dinner was a great hit among Albion College students, faculty and staff, as well as establishing our first connections with the Albion community. We hope to make this dinner even more special than the one before it!

Donkey Basketball

More to be decided

Cost to play:  Undecided

Cost to watch: Undecided

This event will be hosted by The Nwagni Project and Habitat for Humanity together, and will be our largest fundraiser yet. Albion students, staff, faculty, and community members will compete with each other in a basketball tournament -- riding donkeys! This event will prove to be entertaining for all members involved. The competition will be made up of four teams, Albion College Staff, Albion College students, Albion High students, and Albion community members. This fundraiser requires a lot of planning and organizational cooperation but will no doubt prove to be worth attending!

Trip to Cameroon: Time to Build.

December, 2007 - January 2008

Finally, what everything has been building up to. This December, the First Year Experience class of 2011 will travel to Cameroon just as the original Nwagni Project members did before them. Along with them, will be a small group of dedicated Albion students and staff that will spend twenty days in the village of Batchingou, finally building the school that we have been raising money for. Staying in a nearby hotel, this small group will spend their days building Batchingou's new elementary school.

Much needs to be done before this journey takes place, more fundraising for the school and individual fundraising for trip costs, passports, immunizations, visas and more.

We're counting the days until we finally see our friends in Batchingou again.
