Your are currently viewing the Technology/Skills section of my Digital Portfolio. From here you can find out what interests me in the field of technology as well as current skills that I possess. Also, having had an internship in the IT field I am very capable working with computers as well as end users in a very professional manner.

Hardware Skills

I have had experience building PC's from the ground up so I know their working parts intimately. I have also build and managed networks so I also know all about what makes those tick and how to troubleshoot various problems relating to hardware/networking issues.

Specific Skills

- Here is where you can learn about my various computing skills.

I have had advanced training in all MS Office products. I have used three major operating systems have had formal training in the first two: Windows(3.1-XP), Linux(SuSE,Fedora,Red Hat, Slackware, Debian), and Tiger (Mac OS X).

I have a great deal of experience coding in Java as well as Visual Basic 6, and most recently Visual Basic.Net. I also am fluent in SQL and have worked with relational databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, MS Access). I have manipulated data within databases directly and indirectly via programs and websites(asp). Most recently I have begun learning C++ and plan to pick up PERL soon.

I also have significant experience with web based technologies. I have worked with the following programs: MS FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver(this site was designed with it), Stylus Studio(XML), SoThink MenuEditor(DHTML), and of coarse the ever popular notepad. I have used Active Server Pages (ASP), ASP.Net, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), HTML, XHTML, XML, XSL, DHTML, Coldfusion (CFM), JavaScript, and Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBscript).

I am also experienced in Anti-Malware technologies. I know how to remove virus', spyware, and most other common problems. I have used a number of products for years and as a result have a great working knowledge of their capabilities and limitations. Said programs include: Norton Anti-Virus (personal and corporate), Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware SE, Zone-Alarm, Web-Root Spysweeper, and McAfee Antivirus. Note: I have also been known to get so irritated I manually go and kick the malware's butt, you ever seen TRON?

What Interests Me

Almost everything and anything interests me when it comes to computers. I always love learning new technologies and how to implement them. I would say that hardly a day goes by where I don't learn something new about computers, whether is hardware, software, programming, or whatever. My plans to further my love for computers includes a career in the IT field, most likely what I am doing right now (software development) or possibly datawarehouseing or network security.

This is where you can find my most recent random thought, I'll try to update as often as I can.

As of late I've rediscovered the joy of Lemmings, yes that game from way back when, and its still as fun as ever.

I believe that people are far to ignorant to this issue, so please for your own safety click this.

Told you it was random...

April '07 - Made some minor tweaks and updated information to reflect my status for the summer/fall of 2007.

July '06 - Totally reinvented the website from the ground up using various web skills, but still working out the finer details.

Fall of '05 - This site was created under the /dp address and it had basic information, quite boring.

Lately I've been loosing my faith in humanity thanks to Fark.

Being a geek I have to read Slashdot everyday. News for nerds, stuff that matters.

If you want to waste an incredible amount of time try playing Lemmings. It is the full game, and playable online.
